Tender Notice: | Tenders are hereby invited from experienced contractors for National Route 4 Section 12 (PWV3): The construction of National Route 4 Section 12 (PWV3) between Road P123-1 and Road 980: Subsurface Investigation, this project being in North West Province. Tender documents will be available as from Monday, 8 December 2008 and may only be obtained from the Regional Manager, South African National Roads Agency Limited, 38 Ida Street, Menlo Park, Pretoria (012 426 6200) during the hours 08:00 to 16:00 (Monday to Friday), upon payment of a non-refundable fee of R500-00 per set, excluding Volumes 1 and 2 (FIDIC “General Conditions Of Contract For Construction For Building And Engineering Works Designed By The Employer†(1999), and CSRA Standard Specifications for Subsurface investigation, which the tenderer may purchase separately. Cheques are to be made payable to the South African National Roads Agency Limited. A tenderers' meeting shall be held on Wednesday, 10 December 2008 at the offices of Africon (Pty) Ltd, Africon Centre, 1040 Burnett Street, Hatfield, Pretoria commencing at 09:00 whereafter an inspection of the site will take place. Tenderers are required to arrange their own transport to the site, 4X4 type vehicles are recommended. Only tenders from tenderers who attend the above tenderers' meeting and site inspection shall be considered. All tenders and supporting documents shall be sealed in an envelope or package clearly marked "CONTRACT NO. NRA N.004-112-2001/1D-SS: NATIONAL ROUTE 4 SECTION 12 (PWV3): SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION and shall be delivered to the Regional Manager, South African National Roads Agency Limited by hand to room no. 1, 38 Ida Street, Menlo Park, Pretoria or by post to Private Bag X17, Lynwood Ridge, 0400. Tenders may be faxed to 012 348 0883 and will be accepted provided that the requirements of tender rule 15 are complied with. Tenderers are advised to obtain confirmation that the tender has been received whether delivered by hand, by post, by courier or by fax. In all cases the tender shall reach the stipulated address not later than 11h00 on Friday, 9 January 2009 when tenders shall be opened in public. All tenders shall hold good until Thursday, 9 April 2009, (90 days after the closing date) Tenderers' attention is drawn specifically to the provisions of the tender rules which are included in Volume 3 of the tender documents. The successful tenderer will be notified by facsimile transmission and execution of the Works is required to commence within seven (7) calendar days after the date of notification of the award of Contract and to be completed within five (5) weeks maximum after the date of site hand-over to the Contractor. Saturdays are considered working days. Confirmation of the award of Contract will be made by facsimile transmission followed up by the original letter of appointment, soon after which arrangements will be made for the signing of the contract. |
