Tender Notice: | The South African National Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL) invites tenders for the IMPROVEMENT OF NATIONAL ROUTE 2, SECTION 14 BETWEEN KEISKAMMA RIVER AND GREEN RIVER. This project is in the province of the Eastern Cape and consists of the improvement of approximately 23km of the N2, section 14 from km 37,3 to km 60,3. The project involves the improvement of this section of the N2 to provide a suitable pavement for a 20-year design life as well as substantial vertical re-alignment. The project also includes the construction of a new bridge over the Green River and the widening of the existing Keiskamma River Bridge. The approximate construction duration is 24 months. Tenderers should have a CIDB contractor grading designation of 9CE. Tenders from tenderers with a CIDB contractor grading designation of 8CEPE or lower will not be accepted. Preferences are offered to tenderers who comply with the criteria stated in the Tender Data. Joint Venture tenders are encouraged by the offer of preference points, as defined in the Tender Data, which are made available to tenders that create a joint venture between the main tenderer and category 7CE or lower tenderer(s). The physical address for collection of tender documents is the SANRAL Southern Regional Office, SANRAL House, Southern Life Gardens, 70 Second Avenue, Newton Park, Port Elizabeth where documents may be collected during the hours 09h00 to 16h00 (Monday to Friday), from 29 October 2010. A non-refundable fee of R300.00 is required, payable by means of direct deposit or electronic funds transfer to The South African National Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL), Bank: ABSA Bank Limited, Branch Number: 335545, Account Number: 1045510073, Reference: NRA N.002-140-2005/2 and Company name or call SANRAL office (041 398 3200) for reference number. Proof of payment must be provided on the collection of Tender Documentation. Tender documents will be issued in printed format only. A compulsory pre-tender meeting with representatives of SANRAL will take place at the Amathole Museum in King Williams Town, at the corner of Alexandra and Albert Roads on Thursday, 4 November 2010 starting at 10h00 (GPS Co-ord: S 32o52’37†, E 27o23’30â€). Telegraphic, telephonic, telex, email, facsimile and late tenders will not be accepted. Tenders may only be submitted in the format as stated in the Tender Data.
