Tender Notice: | The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) invites tenders for the upgrading of 16.3km of National Route N2 between Grahamstown and Fish River Pass (Phase 1 : Section 13 – km 62.0 to km 78.7. The Works includes the construction of a bypass around the Fish River Pass, N2 Section 14 – km 0.2 to km 2.4. This project is in the province of the Eastern Cape and in the district municipalities of Cacadu and Amathole. The approximate duration is 27 months. Only tenderers who have access to two suitably qualified and experienced construction managers, reporting to one contracts manager who will be the single point accountability and responsibility for the management of the construction works, and who are registered with SACPCMP as PrCM or ECSA as PrEng and PrTechEng are eligible to tender. Tenderers should have a CIDB contractor grading designation of 9 CE. Tenders from tenderers with a CIDB contractor grading designation of 8 CEPE or lower will not be accepted. The primary criterion in selection, apart from the qualification and experience of the construction manager, CIDB grading and costs, will be the degree to which the tenderer can demonstrate appropriate knowledge and expertise. Preferences are therefore offered to tenderers who comply with the criteria stated in the Tender Data. The physical address for collection of tender documents is Block C, Southern Life Gardens, 70 Second Avenue, Newton Park, Port Elizabeth where documents may be collected during the hours 08h00 to 16h00 (Monday to Friday), from 10 November 2014. A non-refundable fee of R300.00 is required, payable by means of direct deposit or electronic funds transfer to The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL), Bank: ABSA Bank Limited, Branch Number: 335545, Account Number: 1045510073, Reference: Call SANRAL at 041-398 3200, contact person Thandiswa Vanda Nqunqa, for a reference number. Payment without a reference number should not be made, and it must be noted that payment at the SANRAL office will not be accepted. Proof of payment must be provided on the collection of Tender Documentation. Tender documents will be issued in electronic format on CD and tenderers must have access to MS Office 2007 and Acrobat Adobe 9.0, or similar compatible software. A compulsory tender clarification meeting with representatives of SANRAL will take place at the 1820 Settler’s Monument, Fort Selwyn Drive (approximately 600m off the N2 section 13 at km 51.1 - 33º19.9’81â€S / 26º31.9’27â€E on 13 November 2014 starting at 10:00. Late arrivals will not be allowed to participate in the meeting and their submissions shall be declared non-responsive. The closing time for receipt of tenders is 14h00 on 05 December 2014. Telegraphic, telephonic, telex, email, facsimile, late tenders and submissions from tenderers who arrived late at the tender clarification meeting will not be accepted.
