Tender Notice: | GIBB (Pty) Ltd invites tenders on behalf of the South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL), to undertake traffic engineering services for the above project. The services will, inter alia, involve ascertaining vehicular and pedestrian traffic movements and identifying appropriate facilities for such to inform the design process of the proposed upgrade of sections of the National Routes N2 and R63 as well as the proposed King Williams Town Bypass. Details of the required services are given in subsequent sections of this tender document This project is located in the province of the Eastern Cape in the Buffalo City Metropolitan area. The approximate programme is for design and construction documentation to be completed by August 2015 followed by supervision of 36 months, commencing January 2016. It is envisaged that pedestrian and vehicular counts will be carried out on all feeder roads into and out of King Williams Town. These will include the National Routes N2, the R63 to Bhisho and Dimbaza, R30 to Stutterheim, the North (Wodehouse St) and West (gravel) access roads to Ginsburg township. The Provincial route R346 to Zwelitsha, National Route N2 at the Breidbach Intersection as well as major streets in King Williams Town. The appointed service provider will be required to enter into a Co-Consultant Agreement with GIBB (Pty) Ltd, submit a comprehensive Risk Assessment and OHS Plan and also enter into a Section 37/2 agreement.
