Tender Notice: | The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) invites tenders for the PERIODIC MAINTENANCE OF NATIONAL ROUTE 6 SECTION 4 FROM JJ SERFONTEIN (km 2) TO PENHOEK PASS (km 52) AND FROM END PENHOEK PASS (km 66.2) TO JAMESTOWN (km 107). This project is in the province of the Eastern Cape and in the Chris Hani and Joe Gqabi District Municipalities. The approximate duration is 18 months with construction taking part in two phases (i.e. N.006-040-2014/1 between km 0.8 and km 52 followed by N.006-040-2014/2 between km 66.2 and km 107). The project allows for localised repairs and patching, texture correction and the reseal of the entire road with a modified binder 13mm single seal. Tenderers should have a CIDB contractor grading designation of 8CE or higher. Tenders from tenderers with a CIDB contractor grading designation of 7CEPE or lower will not be accepted. Preferences are offered to tenderers who comply with the criteria stated in the Tender Data. The physical address for collection of tender documents is the South African National Roads Agency (Southern Region), SANRAL House, Block C, Southern Life Gardens, 70 Second Avenue, Newton Park, Port Elizabeth where documents may be collected during the hours 09h00 to 16h00 (Monday to Friday), from 7th April 2014. A non-refundable fee of R300.00 is required, payable by means of direct deposit or electronic funds transfer to The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL), Bank: ABSA Bank Limited, Branch Number: 335545, Account Number: 1045510073, Reference: Call SANRAL 041 398 3200, for a reference number. Payment without a reference number should not be made, and it must be noted that payment at the SANRAL office will not be accepted. Proof of payment must be provided on the collection of Tender Documentation. Tender documents will be issued in electronic format on CD and tenderers must have access to MS Office 2007 and Adobe Acrobat 9.0, or similar compatible software. A compulsory tender clarification meeting with representatives of SANRAL will take place at Aloe Grove Guest Farm, Queenstown (31° 51' 22.90" S, 26° 55' 45.40" E) on Friday 11th April 2014 starting at 09h00 and anticipated to finish at 14h00. Late arrivals will not be allowed to participate in the meeting and their submissions shall be declared non-responsive. The closing time for receipt of tenders is 14h00 on 9th May 2014. Telegraphic, telephonic, telex, email, facsimile, late tenders and submissions from tenderers who arrived late at the tender clarification meeting will not be accepted.
