Tender Notice: | T1.1 TENDER NOTICE AND INVITATION TO TENDER The South African National Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL) invites tenders for the CONSTRUCTION AND UPGRADING OF NATIONAL ROUTE N17 SECTION 3 : LEVEN (KM 26,36) TO TRICHARDT (KM 33,50) (TOTAL LENGTH 7,14 KM). The project comprises the re-grading of a section of the N17-3 to a new vertical alignment, and the strengthening of the pavement of the remainder of the road. Included in the project is a new interchange bridge and the widening of an existing road-over-rail bridge. The project is located in the Govin Mbeki District Municipality in the Mpumalanga Province, and the project duration is approximately 18 months. Tenderers should have a CIDB contractor grading designation of 8CE. This is a non-term contract in terms of Clause 25 (1)(A) of the CIDB guidelines, and joint venture tenders are encouraged by the offer of bonus preference points, as defined in the Tender Data, which are made available to tenderers that create a joint venture between the main tenderer and category 7CE or lower tenderer(s). Preferences are offered to tenderers who comply with the criteria stated in the Tender Data. The physical address for collection of tender documents is 38 Ida Street, Menlo Park, Pretoria, where documents may be collected during the hours 08h00 to 16h00 (Monday to Friday), from 25 September 2009. A non-refundable fee of R300.00 payable in cash or by bank guaranteed cheque made payable to SANRAL is required on collection of the tender documents. A compulsory pre-tender meeting with representatives of SANRAL will take place at the Swiss Ranch Restaurant and Conference Centre, 1 Voortrekker Street, Trichardt on Thursday 1 October 2009 starting at 10h00. The closing time for receipt of tenders is 14h00 on 30 October 2009. Telegraphic, telephonic, telex, email, facsimile and late tenders will not be accepted. Tenders may only be submitted in the format as stated in the Tender Data. Requirements for sealing, addressing, delivery, opening and assessment of tenders are stated in the Tender Data.
