Tender Notice: | The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) invites tenders for the realignment of National Route 2, section 27 from Umhlali River Bridge (km 15.370 to km 15.980) and from Umvoti River Bridge (km 26.400 to km 27.140). This project is in the province of KwaZulu-Natal and in the Ilembe district Municipality. The approximate duration of the contract is 12 months. Tenderers should have a CIDB contractor grading designation of 8CE or higher. Tenders from tenderers with a CIDB contractor grading designation of 7CEPE or lower will not be accepted. Preferences are offered to tenderers who comply with the criteria stated in the Tender Data. The physical address for collection of tender documents is 58 Van Eck Place, Mkondeni, Pietermaritzburg, where documents may be collected during office hours 08h00 to 16h00 (Monday to Friday), from Tuesday, 22 April 2014. A non-refundable fee of R300.00 is required, payable by means of direct deposit or electronic funds transfer to The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL), Bank: ABSA Bank Limited, Branch Number: 335545, Account Number: 1045510073, Reference: Call SANRAL Eastern Region Offices on (033) 392 8100, for a reference number. Payment without a reference number should not be made, and it must be noted that payment at the SANRAL office will not be accepted. Proof of payment must be provided on the collection of Tender Documentation. Tender documents will be issued in electronic format on CD and tenderers must have access to MS Office 2007 and Acrobat Adobe 9.0, or similar compatible software. A compulsory tender clarification meeting with representatives of SANRAL will take place at Naidu Consulting Offices, Shop 4, Ushaka Square, 57 Main Road, Shakaskraal on Wednesday, 30 April 2014 starting at 11h00. Late arrivals will not be allowed to participate in the meeting and their submissions shall be declared non-responsive. The closing time for receipt of tenders is 14h00 on Friday, 23 May 2014. Telegraphic, telephonic, telex, email, facsimile, late tenders and submissions from tenderers who arrived late at the tender clarification meeting will not be accepted. Tenders may only be submitted in the format as stated in the Tender Data. Requirements for sealing, addressing, delivery, opening and assessment of tenders are stated in the Tender Data.
