Tender Notice: | T1.1 TENDER NOTICE AND INVITATION TO TENDER The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) invites tenders for Contract NRA N008-089-2012/1 for the Periodic Maintenance (Reseal) of National Route 8, Sections 8 and 9 between Kimberley (km 0.00) and Alexanderfontein (km 23.2). This project is approximately 29 km in length and falls within the provinces of Northern Cape and Free State in the district municipalities of Frances Baard and Lejweleputswa. The contract duration is 5 months. Tenderers should have a CIDB contractor grading designation of 7 CE or higher. Tenders from tenderers with a CIDB contractor grading designation of 6 CEPE or lower will not be accepted. Preferences are offered to tenderers who comply with the criteria stated in the Tender Data. Joint Venture tenders are encouraged by the offer of preference points, as defined in the Tender Data, which are made available to tenders that create a joint venture between the main tenderer and category 7 CE or lower tenderer(s). The physical address for collection of tender documents is 58 Van Eck Place, Mkondeni, Pietermaritzburg, 3204 where documents may be collected during the hours 08h00 to 16h00 (Monday to Friday), from 23 September 2011. A non-refundable fee of R300.00 is required, payable by means of direct deposit or electronic funds transfer to The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL), Bank: ABSA Bank Limited, Branch Number: 335545, Account Number: 1045510073, Reference: Call SANRAL office, 033 392 8100 for a reference number. Do not make a payment without a reference. Proof of payment must be provided on the collection of Tender Documentation. Tender documents will be issued in electronic format on CD. A compulsory pre-tender meeting with representatives of SANRAL will take place at Horseshoe Inn at Kimberley (Tel. No. 053 – 832 5267) on 28 September 2011 starting at 10:00. The closing time for receipt of tenders is 14h00 on 21 October 2011. Telegraphic, telephonic, telex, email, facsimile and late tenders will not be accepted. Tenders may only be submitted in the format as stated in the Tender Data. Requirements for sealing, addressing, delivery, opening and assessment of tenders are stated in the Tender Data.
