Tender Notice: | T1.1 TENDER NOTICE AND INVITATION TO TENDER The South African National Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL) invites tenders for National Road R38 from Carolina to Badplaas (Section 4: km 0,0 to km 52,63) and Badplaas to Barberton (Section 5 : km 0,0 to km 59,07). This project is in the province of Mpumalanga, and falls within the Gert Sibande District Municipality (Carolina: Albert Luthuli Local Municipality) and the Ehlanzeni District Municipality (Barberton: Umjindi Local Municipality). The approximate duration is set for 16 months. Tenderers should have a CIDB contractor grading designation of 9 CE. Tenders from tenderers with a CIDB contractor grading designation of 8 CEPE or lower will not be accepted. Preferences are offered to tenderers who comply with the criteria stated in the Tender Data. Joint venture tenders are encouraged by the offer of preference points, as defined in the Tender Data, which are made available to tenders that create a joint venture between the main tenderer and category 7CE or lower tenderer(s). The physical address for collection of tender documents is 38 Ida Street, Menlo Park, 0081 where documents may be collected during the hours 08h00 to 16h00 (Monday to Friday), from 30 June 2011. A non-refundable fee of R300.00 is required, payable by means of direct deposit or electronic funds transfer to The South African National Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL), Bank: ABSA Bank Limited, Branch Number: 335545, Account Number: 1045510073, Reference: (call SANRAL office (012) 426 6206 (Rosie) for reference number). Proof of payment must be provided on the collection of Tender Documentation. Tender documents will be issued in electronic format on CD. A compulsory pre-tender meeting with representatives of SANRAL will take place at the Buff’s Country Lodge on Tuesday, 5 July 2011 starting at 11H00. The venue is located approximately 2,3km on the Amsterdam/Oshoek road (R33) east of Carolina (refer to the locality plan bound in the contract document). The closing time for receipt of tenders is 14h00 on Tuesday, 26 July 2011. Telegraphic, telephonic, telex, email, facsimile and late tenders will not be accepted. Tenders may only be submitted in the format as stated in the Tender Data. Requirements for sealing, addressing, delivery, opening and assessment of tenders are stated in the Tender Data.
