Tender Notice: | Jeffares & Green (Pty) Ltd invites tenders, on behalf of The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited, for the subservice of managing the environmental processes during the construction stage for The Upgrading of National Route R61 from Section 6 All Saints (km 68.5) to Section 7 Baziya (km 12.0) : Phase 1 : Section 6 km 86.65 To Section 7 km 12.0. This Project is situated between Ngcobo and Mthatha towns in the province of the Eastern Cape and in the district municipalities of Chris Hani and OR Tambo. The Project involves the upgrading of 18.2km of the existing road to improved geometric standards, the replacement of 3 river bridges and the installation of 7 major culverts. The approximate duration of the contract is 30 months, commencing October 2014. The Applicant is committed to transformation, employment equity and staff advancement, and to supporting black economic empowerment. The primary criterion in selection, apart from costs, will be the degree to which the Tenderer can demonstrate appropriate knowledge and expertise. A further consideration will naturally be the equity profile of the Tenderer in management, ownership and implementation. Preferences are, therefore, offered to tenderers who comply with the criteria stated in the Tender Data. Only tenderers with at least eight (8) years of practical post graduate experience as an environmental practitioner are eligible to submit tenders. It will be an advantage for the tenderer to be registered with the Environmental Division of the South African Council of Natural Science Professionals (SAC Pr Sci Nat) and demonstrate membership to the professional body of Environmental Assessment Practitioners of South Africa (ECOSA).
