Tender Notice: | The South African National Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL) invites tenders from Contractors for the Geotechnical Investigation of a hard rock quarry and bridge foundations on National Route R570 Section 1 in the Mphumalanga Province of South Africa. The approximate contract duration is 25 working days. Tender documents will be available as from Friday 12 March 2010 and may be obtained from the Regional Manager, South African National Roads Agency Limited, Northern Region, 38 Ida Street, Menlo Park, Pretoria, Tel No +27 12 426 6200 during the hours 08:00 to 16:00 (Monday to Friday), upon payment of a non-refundable fee of R300-00 per set, excluding Volumes 1 and 2 (Fidic “General Conditions of Contract for Construction for Building and Engineering Works Designed by the Employer (1999)", and CSRA Standard Specifications for Subsurface Investigations, which the tenderer may purchase separately. Cheques are to be made payable to the South African National Roads Agency Limited. No tenderers' meeting or site inspection will be held, but enquiries relating to this project can be addressed to Mr. Jaco Markram representing KV3 Engineers. All tenders and supporting documents shall be sealed in an envelope or package clearly marked : " CONTRACT NRA R.570-010-2011/1 SS : IMPROVEMENT OF NATIONAL ROUTE R570 SECTION 1 FROM N4 TO JEPPES REEF (TOTAL 40,84 KM) : DRILLING INVESTIGATION OF QUARRY AND BRIDGES " and shall be delivered to the Regional Manager, South African National Roads Agency Limited by hand to Room 1, 38 Ida Street, Menlo Park, Pretoria, or by post to SANRAL, Northern Region, Private Bag X17, Lynnwood Ridge, Pretoria, 0040. Telegraphic, telephonic, telex, email, facsimile and late tenders will not be accepted. The closing time for receipt of tenders is 14:00 on Wednesday 7 April 2010 following which tenders shall be opened in public immediately. All tenders shall hold good until 12:00 on Tuesday 6 July 2010. Tenderers' attention is drawn specifically to the provisions of the tender rules which are included in Volume 3 of the tender documents. The successful tenderer will be notified by facsimile transmission and the work is required to commence within five working days after the date of notification of the award of contract and to be completed within 25 working days maximum after the date of site hand-over to the Contractor. Saturdays are considered to be working days. Confirmation of the award of contract will be made by facsimile transmission followed up by the original letter of appointment, soon after which arrangements will be made for the signing of the contract.
