Tender Notice: | The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) invites tenders for the geotechnical investigation for the upgrade of National Route R61 Section 11 between Port Edward (km 5.0) and Mpenjati River (km 15.4). This project is in the province of KwaZulu Natal in the Ugu District Municipality and the approximate duration is 8 weeks. Preferences are offered to tenderers who comply with the criteria stated in the Tender Data. The physical address for collection of tender documents is The South African Road Agency SOC Limited (Eastern Region) at 58 Van Eck Place, Mkondeni, Pietermaritzburg, 3204 Documents may be collected during the hours 08h00 to 16h00 (Monday to Friday), from Monday 23 June 2014. A non-refundable fee of R300.00 is required, payable by means of direct deposit or electronic funds transfer to The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL), Bank: ABSA Bank Limited, Branch Number: 335545, Account Number: 1045510073, Reference: Call SANRAL Mr Sanele Ngubane 033 392 8100 for a reference number. Payment without a reference number should not be made, and it must be noted that payment at the SANRAL office will not be accepted. Proof of payment must be provided on the collection of Tender Documentation. Tender documents will be issued in electronic format on CD and tenderers must have access to MS Office 2007 and Acrobat Adobe 9.0, or similar compatible software. A compulsory tender clarification meeting with representatives of SANRAL will take place at SMEC South Africa’s Durban Office, 2 The Crescent, Westway Office Park, Westville, DURBAN (GPS co-ordinates 29°51'2.91"S and 30°55'44.62"E) on Friday 27th June 2014 starting at 10:00. Late arrivals will not be allowed to participate in the meeting and their submissions shall be declared non-responsive. The representative attending the meeting shall be a suitably qualified person in the direct employ of the tenderer. The tenderer will also be required to visit the site (Port Edward). The closing time for receipt of tenders is 14h00 on 4th July 2014. Telegraphic, telephonic, telex, email, facsimile, late tenders and submissions from tenderers who arrived late at the clarification meeting will not be accepted. Tenders may only be submitted in the format as stated in the Tender Data. Requirements for sealing, addressing, delivery, opening and assessment of tenders are stated in the Tender Data.
