Tender Notice: | The South African National Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL) invites tenders for the provision of Consulting Engineering Services for :- - The Construction of approx 9km of access roads for the Mpophomeni Village, Port St Johns Municipality; and - The Construction of approx 16km of access roads from Matheko River to Msikaba AA Villages, Ingquza Hill Municipality These projects are in the province of the Eastern Cape and in the district municipality of O R Tambo. The approximate programme is for design and construction documentation to be completed by September 2009, followed by supervision of 12 months for Mpophomeni Access Road and 16 months for Matheko River Access Road. These roads are existing gravel and track roads and will require upgrading to low speed surfaced roads by means of labour intensive construction and extensive community participation. Preferences are offered to tenderers who comply with the criteria stated in the Tender Data. The physical address for collection of tender documents is SANRAL House, Block C, Southern Life Gardens, 70 Second Avenue, Newton Park, 6045 where CD documents may be collected from 27 February 2009 during the hours 08h00 to 16h00 (Monday to Friday). A non-refundable fee of R250.00 payable in cash or by bank guaranteed cheque made payable to SANRAL is required on collection of the tender documents, which will be issued in electronic format on CD. A compulsory tenderer’s clarification meeting with representatives of SANRAL will take place at N’taba River Lodge, Port St Johns on 10 March 2009 starting at 10h00 followed by a visit to the sites and ending at approximately 16h00. 2 X 10 seater transport will be provided. Submissions of tenderers who arrive late may be regarded as non-responsive Telegraphic, telephonic, telex, e-mail, facsimile and late tenders will not be accepted. Tenders may only be submitted in the format as stated in the Tender Data. Requirements for completing, sealing, addressing, delivery, opening and assessment of tenders are stated in the Tender Data. It is a requirement that the works be constructed using labour-intensive methods. The successful tenderer shall not perform any significant portion of the design or administration of the project without the guidance of a person who has successfully completed training NQF 7 unit standard “Develop and Promote Labour Intensive Construction Strategies†and NQF 5 unit standard “Manage Labour Intensive Construction Projects |
