Tender Notice: | SANRAL requires professional engineers with a passion for developing young engineers to train and mentor young graduate engineers for eventual professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). As a signatory to the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) Commitment and Undertaking (CU) number CU2011030C, SANRAL is obligated to enable Engineering Graduates (Candidate Engineers), to be trained under a properly Supervised and Mentored formal in-house SANRAL training programme, to enable them to sit for the professional examination for registration as either a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist. SANRAL in conjunction with the Department of Roads and Public Works of the Eastern Cape Province, have accordingly committed to the establishment of a training Centre of Excellence to be established at Grahamstown. The candidate engineers shall be exposed to all aspects of engineering related to roads including inter alia; • Geometric Design • Traffic analysis and capacity • Materials investigation and utilization • Pavement evaluations and materials designs • Storm water drainage including sub-surface drainage • Laboratory testing • Survey and Land requirements • Road Safety audits • Contract documentation specifications and standards • Tender documents and evaluations • Health, safety and environmental impacts • Labour and SMME enhancements • Construction costing and tendering • Construction equipment and material processing • Production and productivity SANRAL accordingly invites submissions, to be captured on a database, from suitably qualified and experienced individuals, who are registered Civil Engineering Professionals and who would be willing to provide mentorship and training to Candidate Engineers, on a full time or part time basis. Submissions should ideally come from persons that have the necessary inclination, skills and experience to train and mentor the Candidate Engineers , and can offer a predetermined number of hours (and at a particular frequency) per week / month to sustain the training / mentoring requirements necessary in the centre of excellence environment. Submissions must include a detailed CV, available times (hours), past experience in training and mentoring. Remuneration will be market related.
