TRAFFIC ADVISORY
The route between Nqweba (formerly Kirkwood) and Addo to open for two-way traffic
SANRAL would like to inform road users that the route between Nqweba (formerly Kirkwood) and Addo will be open for two-way traffic from the 12th of December 2025 to the 6th of January 2026. Road users must approach the following areas with caution due to ongoing construction work:
- Sunday’s River and Bezuidenhout’s River Bridges – The traffic has been shifted to the right-hand side of the bridge. Traffic will be driving on the old and new roads. The speed limit over the bridges is 40 km per hour.
- This section of the road does not have a centerline. The centerline will be pre-marked and temporary road studs will be placed.
The road is a construction site, and motorists are advised to observe the temporary signs and speed limit of 60 km per hour. No overtaking is permitted.
“Motorists are asked to plan their trips, accordingly, consider alternative routes and to use caution when making use of the road,” said Mbulelo Peterson, SANRAL Eastern Cape Provincial Head.
SANRAL apologises for any inconvenience caused.
