INVITATION FOR QUOTATION TO UNDERTAKE AN INDEPENDENT ROAD SAFETY AUDIT CLOSING DATE (AT 11:00): 21 AUGUST 2026 Experts On The Go (Pty) Ltd were appointed by the South African National Roads Agency SOC Ltd (SANRAL) for the Consulting Engineering Services For The Operations And Management Of Road Incident Management Systems And Road Safety Audits In The North West Province. The project falls within the Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality. The scope of the project is to conduct a Road Safety Investigation (RSINV) of the R49 Section 2 from km 0.00 to km 29.00, focusing on access management and pedestrian safety concerns along the corridor. The road traverses a predominantly agricultural and mining landscape and serves as a key corridor linking the interior of the North West Province to the Botswana–South Africa border. Access management along the corridor is compromised by widespread vandalism of boundary fencing, contributing to uncontrolled access onto the carriageway. The section between km 27.40 and km 28.20 through Mokgola Village presents significant pedestrian safety concerns, with hazard points including a liquor store at km 27.80, a scholar pedestrian crossing at km 27.00, and a tavern with associated pedestrian and scholar activity at km 26.00. At km 26.60, a three-way stop intersection has been identified as hazardous due to non-compliance by heavy vehicles observed failing to stop. Two intersections at km 17.00 and km 18.80 in Lekubung Village have also been flagged as hazardous, with speeding and an informal taxi rank identified as contributing risk factors. Firms with road safety and traffic engineering experience are therefore invited to submit a quote to undertake an independent Road Safety Investigation. A clarification meeting will not be held, but it is essential that prospective tenderers familiarise themselves with the site. QUOTATION DOCUMENTS Quotation documents are available at no cost in electronic format downloaded from the SANRAL’s website by the following link https://www.nra.co.za/sanral-tenders/list/open-tenders/ .Tenderers must have access to Microsoft © Office 2013 and Acrobat Adobe © 9.0 or similar compatible software.
