2009
  • SAICE Southern Cape Regional Award for the most outstanding civil engineering achievement in the field of technical excellence for the Kaaimans Pass Safety Improvements.
2008
  • The dedicated and innovative approach toward the environment on the N2 Tsitsikamma to Witelsbos culminated in a merit award at Greening the Future Awards by the Mail & Guardian.
  • The Plettenberg Bay Bridge received an award at the International Footbridge Awards for bridge design and engineering.
  • The R300 Pedestrian Bridge linking Kalkfontein and Belhar was awarded the SAICE Regional Award for the Most Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement: Community Based Projects
  • SAICE Branch Award for Most outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement for the Kaaimans Pass Slope Failure Retrofitted with Half Viaduct Bridge
  • SANRAL received an award from Consulting Engineers South Africa (formerly known as the South African Association of Consulting Engineers) for the “Visionary Client of the Year”.
  • The Hammanskrall Pedestrian Project received the Steel Award and the SAICE branch award
2007
  • The Tarka Bridge to Cradock received a Fulton Award
  • a Commendation, in the Construction Techniques Category for ‘ Excellence in the use of Concrete’. This award is under the auspices of the Concrete Society of Southern Africa.
  • Winner of the Steel awards Category bridges for the Plettenberg Bay Pedestrian bridge
  • SANRAL was awarded the SAACE Glenrand MIB Excellence Awards for engineering excellence of the Plettenberg Bay Pedestrian Bridge
  • SANRAL’s Annual Report was awarded a merit award in the State category at the Annual Report Awards.
  • SANRAL’s Tsitsa river bridge project received the Durban SAICE local branch award for community based construction
  • SANRAL’s Qwasha river bridge project received the SAICE national award for community based construction
2006
  • Received the national SAICE award for CH Mitchell Bridge for technical category
  • The Qwasha river bridge received the Pietermaritzburg SAICE local branch award for community based construction
  • The Tsitsa River Bridge received the SAICE regional award for Community based construction
2005
  • The Diamondhill Toll Plaza won the Steel Awards 2005
  • Amadiba Road won the national SAICE award for community based construction
  • SANRAL’s CH Mitchell bridge repair was awarded the Pietermaritzburg SAICE local branch award for technical category-
2004
  • The Systems Interchange at Coega IDZ won the SAICE Branch Award for Technical Excellence
  • Amadiba Road won the SAICE regional award for community based construction
    Eskom Award: Hot Galvanizing Dip in the Sustainable Performance Category was presented to SANRAL as their role Developer / Owner for the Design and Implementation of the Storms River Bridge which incorporated hot dip galvanizing.

  • SANRAL’s Amadiba Road Construction received the Pietermaritzburg SAICE local and national branch award for community based construction
2003
  • SANRAL awarded the Special Centenary Award by the South African Institution of Civil Engineering – Transport Engineering for the provision and maintenance of a superior primary road network in South Africa.
  • SANRAL received the SAICE special Centenary Award for Transport Engineering for the provision and maintenance of a superior primary road network in South Africa.
  • Nelson Mandela Bridge received three steel awards
  • The Nelson Mandela Bridge received the SAICE awards for Corrosion Protection
2002
  • SANRAL received South Africa’s Top 30 companies as a result of its contribution to economic growth and job creation.
2001
  • SANRAL won the SAICE Branch Award for Technical Excellence Stabilisation of the Cuttings and Drainage of a Fill on the Grahamstown Bypass
  • International Bridge Tunnel and Turnpike Association awarded SANRAL with the Toll innovation and excellence award for outstanding entry for operations and maintenance of Toll Facilities in SA.
  • SANRAL awarded the Project Finance Award for Deals of the Year – African Transport for the Bakwena Platinum Highway
  • SANRAL was nominated, for the Impumelelo Top 300 Black Economic Companies Award, by its peers as on of the top companies in its business sector contributing to growth of South Africa.
  • SANRAL received the Platinum Award from South Africa’s Top 300 Companies National Awards for contributing to its business sector and to growth of South Africa.
